Hi Ho snickerdoodle... Awaaay!

snickerdoodlers,

We just love the smell of fresh PCBs in the morning!

Hot off the press and reeking of delicious solder mask, the long-awaited Alpha fabs arrived this morning - check ‘em out…

the fabs - which look spectacular - complete our giant pile of parts…

and at the time of this writing, it’s official: Alpha assembly is underway!

We did suffer a couple frustrating setbacks over the last couple weeks (including fab delays and a bunch of ICs needing to be replaced as a result of them coming loose in the trays they were shipped in - which, of course, were only available from our vendor’s overseas stock…). But things are back on track and we’re moving in the right direction again: forward.

As far as next steps and timing goes, here’s the rundown:

Step 1 - receive fist batch (qty. 10) of assembled PCBs (ETA: Feb. 19)
Step 2 - run through full bring up and ’torture testing’ (1-2 weeks)
Step 3 - receive balance of assembled Alpha PCBs (ETA: Mar. 4 - Mar. 11)
Step 4 - ship out Alpha units…YAY! (est. Mar. 7 - Mar. 14)

We’ll keep everyone up to speed on the progress of each step and we should have more updates on the rest of the build (the remaining snickerdoodle and baseboard preorders) sometime in the next couple weeks.

Stay tuned…

Sincerely,

Cousins, Weatherbee, and Bush
