Learn how to turn the $4 Raspberry Pi Pico board into a drag-n-drop FPGA loader using open-source software.
In the workshop each participant will be provided a kit including:
- MAX10 10M08E144 evaluation board
- Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040 board
- USB Blaster adapter PCB and loose connectors
- Programming cables
In the workshop we will:
- Assemble the USB Blaster adapter to the Pico board
- Connect the Pico-Dirty-Blaster to the MAX10 10M08E144 evaluation board
- Drag-n-drop the provided FuseSoC blinky FPGA programming image onto the board
- Learn how to create your own drag-n-drop FPGA programming image
Extra Credit: Programming with PICO-DIRTYJTAG and openFPGAloader.
- Load Pico-DirtyJTAG firmware onto the Pico board
- Install openFPGALoader
- Load FuseSoC blinky example into the MAX10 board
The adapter PCBs use large-pitch, through-hole connectors easy for beginners with little or no soldering experience.
Participants should bring their own PC to program the adapter.
