Project update 7 of 7
Hey everyone! Well, here we are at the end of the campaign, and it seems like there just isn’t enough interest at this point to fund a print run of the book. 42% isn’t bad, though! I want to thank everyone who pledged to the campaign, and especially everyone who shared the campaign on social media. You guys are the best, and I could not have come even this far without each and every one of you.
So, what happens now? For those of you less familiar with crowdfunding: none of you will be charged any money, and the perks listed in the campaign as it is are not going out.
So is that it? Of course not! First of all, you (and everyone!) get full, free access to the ebook courtesy of the Internet Archive! You can view the book online at https://archive.org/stream/BigBuckBunnyBoardBook/ebook or download a PDF from https://archive.org/download/BigBuckBunnyBoardBook/ebook.pdf and write a review for the Internet Archive at https://archive.org/write-review.php?identifier=BigBuckBunnyBoardBook.
You can also get the full source material (with print-quality images and print layout) for the book from https://github.com/singpolyma/big-buck-bunny-board-book.
PDF versions of at least one colouring page will be coming out soon, hopefully with more to follow.
I’m very excited to announce, that I have secured a printing company for an unusually small run of board books! So, any of you who really do want a copy can still get one! The cost is higher (25 USD + shipping) and I will only be printing exactly as many as I have orders for (no stock to make available later), but if you’re interested in a copy or two please get in touch with me very soon. If everyone who is interested gets in touch in the next two weeks, I think I can still get them to you by Christmas. You can email bbbbb@singpolyma.net with your interest and I will coordinate with you.
Fabián Rodríguez has kindly offered to do French and Spanish translations of the book, which are mostly done. I will be releasing the eBook versions and sources for these soon, as well as probably a French/English bilingual version. If you would like a physical board-book of any of these other languages, please let me know. Because of the flexibility of the new printing partner, I think it will be possible to accommodate this.
