Project update 13 of 15
Thanks for everyone’s support so far! As you may have noticed, the campaign is scheduled to end today. While over $440K has been pledged so far, we are only 12% toward our goal. Nonetheless, we have reasons to be optimistic and have worked with Crowd Supply to extend the campaign another 30 days.
Thirty days is the longest we feel comfortable extending the campaign without seriously affecting the production schedule. For those of you who have aleady backed the Talos™ campaign, we realize extending the campaign is a change in the terms of what you signed up for and we will of course understand and honor any cancellation requests made before the (new) end of the campaign.
As for why we are feeling optimistic, there are a few reasons. First, we are in discussions with some potential partners who might be able to help the Talos™ campaign succeed. Second, we are finally seeing Talos™ discussed in circles likely to understand and appreciate the basic value proposition of secure, libre computing. For example, an article about Talos™ in the Enterprise Times just came out this morning.
Again, thank you for your support and encouragement so far. As one of our supporters wrote to us today, "Talos™ is basically a referendum on whether free software dies in the future, or thrives." We’re excited to face the challenge ahead! Please spread the word and contribute if you can. While the \$10, or even \$250, support levels may not seem like much, they go a long way in demonstrating to everyone watching the campaign that people care about libre computing, and directly help Talos™ reach the manufacturing stage.
