Welcome Discovery Dish, GRCon 2023, and an ISS-tracking Helical Antenna

Help us welcome Discovery Dish, check out Qorvo RF Accelerator projects at GRCon 2023, and watch a progress report from Zeke (a.k.a. KJ7NLL).

Discovery Dish

Help us welcome Discovery Dish to the Qorvo RF Accelerator. Discovery Dish is a simplified system for weather satellite reception and hydrogen line radio astronomy. To amplify the weak signals transmitted by weather satellites, Discovery Dish incorporates the Qorvo QPL9547 high-linearity, ultra-low-noise amplifier in a small 2 x 2 mm surface-mount package.

Accelerator Projects at GRCon 2023

GNU Radio Conference (GRCon) is the annual conference for the GNU Radio project and community, and has established itself as one of the premier industry events for software-defined radio. The week-long conference took place September 5-9, featuring high-quality technical content and valuable networking opportunities.

Accelerator projects VXSDR-20-160 and uSDR both attended in GRCon in person. VXSDR-20-160, a high-performance 5-20 GHz software-defined radio, gave a lightning talk, and uSDR, a tiny, single-sided M.2 SDR board, gave an overview of their platform.
