Thank You and Some News
Thank you to all those who have supported HeartyPatch over last almost 3 years. We are writing this update with mixed feelings as we transition from the original HeartyPatch project launched in mid-2017 to the production of a commercial, medical-grade wearable device for Cardiac monitoring and Cardiac care. As of now. This means that we will not be selling HeartyPatch through Crowd Supply and all other channels, as we transfer the HeartyPatch design to Patch Inc., a cardiac monitoring start-up based in Cambridge, MA, USA. This was done for a couple of reasons, as we'll explain in this update. Read the full update.
The HealthyPi v4 Campaign is Live!

NEW: We have an injection-moulded enclosure!
We have a new injection-moulded enclosure for the HeartyPatch. It has been a big adventure for us, this being our first foray into the vast moulded plastics field. New Docs - New Code
We have some major changes to the TCP/Wi-Fi code for viewing the continuous ECG signal from the HeartyPatch. This does not have any effect on the R-to-R detection only code, though. Read the full update.
New Partnership Wearable
First, an update regarding shipping. There is a short delay in shipping out the third batch of devices. This is due to some customs clearance issues with the ECG "snap-in" buttons that are used with the HeartyPatch. Read the full update.

After our delay in shipping the devices on time because of certain battery issues, we have confirmed that the second batch of devices that we shipped last week has arrived at Crowd Supply's warehouse. Stress and its Relation to Heart-rate Variability (HRV)
Stress is a physiological condition that can be caused by various external stimuli or by our own minds and is mostly considered to be bad (there are also forms of "good" stress). Stress could range from physical stress to mental stress because of excessive cognitive activity (a bad day at the office!). It has been found that stress is a major factor in the cause of several diseases including cardiac disease, and there are a lot of statistics on these issues. Read the full update.
HeartyPatch Bluetooth Functionality
HeartyPatch supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality with the heartrate monitor profile giving the real-time heartrate as well as R-R intervals. This means that it is now compatible with all common heartrate monitoring and HRV (Heart Rate Variability) apps. Read the full update.
Heart-rate vs. Heart-rate Variability (HRV)
Heart rate is the data you get from a regular heart rate monitor like a chest-worn belt or a wrist-worn band based on optical sensors. The heart rate computed by these devices is an averaged value of the R-R intervals (explained in the main page) calculated over a period of time. Read the full update.
