Thank you again to all our backers for your patience. We are excited to announce the first batch of HealthyPi Move devices is now shipping! We have shipped all the hardware to Crowd Supply and they will be sending your order out to you. Many of you may have already received your devices, but if you haven’t, please check your tracking number on the Crowd Supply website.
For those who have received the device, please read on.
We are finalizing the software and documentation for the device, which will be available on the HealthyPi Move website soon. However, please note that the current version of the device is not fully functional yet. The software is still in development and some features may not work as expected.
Once the software is ready, the app will be made available on the App Store and the Play Store. We will send out another update with instructions to get started. In the meantime, we recommend you do not use the device for any critical applications or rely on it for any important measurements. We had to ship with the pre-release firmware due to issues we had with production and we did not want to delay delivery anymore. At the time of shipping, we ran the risk of shipping with firmware that cannot be updated due to bootloader issues, so we decided to ship with something that is at least updatable.
Specifically we are looking at a Bluetooth issue with the nRF5340 that suddenly popped up. The issue can cause BLE to fail during the firmware update and it seems to be related to this issue in Zephyr. Since this could potentially result in a bricked device if the firmware update fails, we decided to ship with the pre-release firmware that is updatable.
For those eager to get started, we’ve put together some preliminary documentation at move.protocentral.com. If you’re looking to dive in before the app is available, and if you have a JTAG/SWD programmer or even an nRF5340 DK, you can use the provided programmer adapter to flash the device by following the instructions in the developer section. In that section, simply replace references to the nRF5340DK with your JTAG setup and you should be good to go.
We are sorry for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding. We are working hard to get the software ready soon and we will keep you updated on our progress. Thank you for your support and patience.
