Project update 2 of 8
Today we’re going to show you a short video that gives a brief overview of the capabilities of the thingSoC NeoLED Hub board, which can drive eight (8) strings of programmable color LEDs per board. Each board can drive 8 x 8 x 8 = 512 color LED’s. You can stack up to eight (8) NeoLED boards to drive a total of 4096 LED’s per stack!
One of the best things about this board is the simplicity of it, it has several built-in demonstration modes that we are showing here, but it is also programmable from any of our thingSoC processor boards. To the processor, each NeoLED board looks like an I2C (two-wire bus) memory array; just write to a memory location and the corresponding LED will illuminate! That allows you to separate the strict timing of refreshing the LED’s from your main processor, and simplifies your programming effort.
