Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce that the V2 Prototype of the Omega2 Eval Board is now ready! We’ve implemented several improvements based on your feedback and our commitment to enhancing your development experience. We’ve thoroughly tested these prototypes, and this version of the design is the one that will be going into production.
Here’s a rundown of what’s changed and why:
1. Updated Silkscreen for Omega2 Module Orientation
- What's New: We've updated the silkscreen on the Omega2 Eval Board to clearly indicate the correct orientation for plugging in the Omega2 module.
- Why It Matters: This enhancement helps prevent incorrect installation, saving you time and avoiding damage to the module. It's now more straightforward than ever to get your Omega2 up and running correctly on the first try.
2. Added Auto-Reset Circuit
- What's New: We've incorporated an auto-reset circuit that automatically restarts the Omega2 if the power supply dips below the minimum voltage threshold (a brownout condition) and then returns to normal.
- Why It Matters: This feature addresses a common request from our community. It ensures that your Omega2 continues to operate reliably even when temporary power fluctuations occur. We will also be adding this solution to our hardware design guide so you can implement it in your own projects.
3. Additional Power Connector
- What's New: We've added two 2.54 mm (0.1") spaced pins for 5 V and GND input.
- Why It Matters: This provides more flexibility for powering your Omega2 Eval Board. The spacing is perfect for soldering down a screw terminal, making it easier to connect external power sources and integrate into various setups.
4. Board Names Added to Back Silkscreen
- What's New: The names of the boards are now printed on the back of the silkscreen.
- Why It Matters: This small but handy addition helps with quick identification, especially if you're working with multiple boards. It keeps your workspace organized and ensures you're always working with the right component.
What’s Next?
We can’t wait for you to get your hands on your Eval Boards and experience these enhancements firsthand! With thorough testing completed, we’re excited to announce that this version of the design is moving into production. We’ll continue to keep you updated on our progress as we move towards shipping.
We Value Your Feedback
As always, we encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions. Your input helps us make better products for everyone.
