Just a quick update on project status because it’s been a while. All the funds have been received and parts are on order from our suppliers. It shouldn’t be much longer before an order is placed with the fabricator (MacroFab).

Things changed slightly from my original plan of ordering a prototype from MacroFab prior to ordering the entire batch. It would have been great to have a first article/prototype from the fab to remove some fabrication risk. However, it looks like that is not meant to be. MacroFab recently discontinued their prototype service. They still allow you to order single quantities, however it costs about 7x what it used to under their prototype service! The only course of action I am left with is to order the entire batch. As I’ve prototyped this project many times over, I’m still really confident the order will turn out as expected.
