We’ve now made it to week four of the campaign, and I’m delighted to say we’re at 140% funded! Wow! This week I’ll be showing you how easy it is to use GlowStitch for teaching with a variety of available pre-made resources .

I’ve designed GlowStitch with the absolute beginner in mind, including teachers and educators interested in getting started with electronics. GlowStitch LEDs are perfect for all kinds of sewing and crafting projects where you might run a STEAM / STEM activity and challenge students to make something that lights up. You could even work on a collaborative project like a light up papercraft town or a dress to be worn as part of a school production. There are so many great options, and I’ve prepared a whole host of resources to make teaching easy.

This includes a pre-made presentation on how to use GlowStitch LEDs to walk a class through how they might make the most out of the LED strips. It includes circuit basics theory, how to use conductive fabric tape effectively, and some tips for use on the sewing machine.

I’ve also created a huge range of printable handouts for students, including instructions that re-cap the presentation and provide example circuit diagrams.

This also includes a variety of example project sheets where students can make a light up bag, power glove, or crown. Just print them out and students eight years plus can get started with making their own creations.
