Project update 27 of 27

PyCharm, Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, & POE Variants

by Brandon G

Hi DepthAI backers!

Our update covers a few topics this week. First up, we made a quick video guide on using PyCharm with DepthAI. Then, a first look at the Raspberry 4 Compute Module Edition prototype. Finally, we are also about to order our first POE DepthAI Onboard Cameras edition, so we are asking for your feedback!

DepthAI and PyCharm

Hello to the Spatial AI/CV Crowd!

We wanted to share a quick update on using PyCharm. One of our backers brought up how nice the PyCharm tool is and asked for help setting it up for use with DepthAI.

So we made a quick video showing how to do so (once we figured it out):

We’ll circle back later on with some updates on using DepthAI with PyFlow as well.

Raspberry 4 Compute Module Edition Prototype

We wanted to share the quick update that the Raspberry 4 Compute Module Edition first-prototype PCB fabrication is complete:

POE DepthAI Onboard Camera Design

We are also about to order our first POE DepthAI Onboard Cameras edition.

Any/all feedback on the design is appreciated, as we haven’t ordered yet (just quoting now), so feedback now is easy to incorporate.

The why of this design is to allow plug/play installation of DepthAI in real-world/outdoor environments exposed to water, harsh environments, etc.

So it is IP67 sealed, with the only external connector being a RJ-45/Ethernet connection which has a IP67 cable gland.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
The Luxonis Team
