From all of us here at Luxonis we hope you are all staying healthy and our hearts are out to any of you who may be suffering during this pandemic.

For us, we’re working harder than ever as it seems to be our coping mechanism. That, and we were already a distributed team who already had home labs so we are some of the least impacted, at least in terms of writing firmware and software.

(In terms of supply chain, this has been a big challenge like it has been for everyone.)

New Product: USB3 Onboard Camera

We’ve developed a new DepthAI product that is now available for pre-order. The DepthAI: Onboard Camera edition gives you the easy and convenience of onboard cameras (stereo-pair base line of 7.5 cm) with the flexibility of working with any USB host. Check here for more details.

Based on feedback from testing and integrating with the Raspberry Pi, this on-board USB3 edition ended up being the most convenient to use with the Pi. We made this design after the initial campaign, and feedback for it was so overwhelmingly positive (particularly over the Pi HAT) that we decided to replace the Pi HAT with this model entirely.

Delivery Status

We delivered DepthAI hardware on-time with hardware shipping out to Crowd Supply campaign backers on February 14th, despite COVID-19!

Orders which came in after the campaign closed have been delayed by COVID-19. The hardware is produced, assemble, calibrated, tested, packed-up and ready, but we are having to ship to a different fulfillment facility because the other was closed because of COVID-19, and the other is not ready for the hardware yet. The hardware will ship out once this is ready. See below for it sitting anxiously awaiting being shipping out:

If you have a pending pre-order, please check your delivery address in your account and update it if needed. Please keep in mind that some couriers may not be delivering to businesses that are closed due to COVID-19. We recommend using a delivery address that you know is accessible, to avoid any issues with delivery.
