Shipping Soon!

by Alfredo Bonini

Hi everyone!

This will be the last post-campaign update before you receive your Lite3DP. The shipment with all the machines and accessories has arrived at Mouser, and from there the final shipments will be made to each of you. Of course, delays and complications were not absent from the process. But we made it! We greatly appreciate your trust and patience and sincerely hope you will be enjoying your Lite3DP Gen 2 very soon.

About 30 machines arrived at Mouser that do not yet have an owner. NOW is the time to order yours. Don’t say later that we didn’t warn you!

Updated documentation

We have been working on updating all documentation. The main board schematic was updated to the final design, and the last two firmware versions are now available on our GitHub (for OLED and touchscreen machines). Instructions to upload new firmware to the main board and a spec sheet for the Gen 2 custom display have also been added.

Expansion shield

After performing some initial tests on our prototype, we have also launched a new expansion board in BETA mode. It is a new 4-layer PCB based on the AW9523 GPIO expander, which plugs directly into the auxiliary connector of the main board and fits inside the machine, containing:

The bill of materials, GERBER files, and pick and place files are available for anyone who wants to prototype it. We believe this board is a great addition to those looking for an advanced application of the Lite3DP Gen 2. Please note that this is an experimental board and you will need to be very careful.

By the way, if you require a custom solution for a particular process or application, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our R&D department will be delighted to help you.

Dev Kit upgrade

We’ve already talked a lot about the new features introduced in the assembled Gen 2, but this time it’s the Dev Kit’s turn. Everyone who ordered the Dev Kit will receive the complete Gen 2 Z-axis for free, including the stepper motor, linear guide, and structural parts. Enjoy it! For a better experience, please download the latest firmware from GitHub and upload it to your Gen 2 main board.

Mass manufacturing, behind the scenes

Below is a video with images of the assembly of the machines. These images were provided by our friends of Makerfabs, who were in charge of the PCB assembly, sourcing of electronic components, mechanical assembly, uploading the firmware and quality testing. Thank you Makerfabs team!

Problem Solving Resources

As we mentioned during the campaign, we created a Discord channel to share experiences, solve problems and have fun. We are new to this platform, so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

On our Youtube channel and on our Instagram we will also be adding some content that may be of your interest. Please subscribe and stay tuned.

All machines have been rigorously tested for quality and performance. As a last resort, if your machine experience any major issue, we have also created this online form. Please fill out the form and we will get back to you very soon to find a solution.

We would love to hear from you

We will greatly appreciate any feedback, comments and anything you want to share with us about the application and use of your Lite3DP. We look forward to your contact!

Take care! See you soon!
