In the previous update, we shared two demos using LMS8001 Companion boards to frequency shift signals up to, and down from, 10GHz. In the video, you may have noticed we were using some curious looking antennas, which are of Vivaldi (a.k.a. tapered slot) design. The benefits of such designs include that they are broadband and, up at higher frequencies, are well suited to being manufactured as PCBs.
We’ve published the design for the antenna, along with simulation and initial measurement results. We’re also looking at adding this or a similar design antenna to the campaign.
