Project update 6 of 26
We have been hard at work since the start of the campaign in building numerous prototypes of our network-in-a-box solutions. Our most challenging platform, in terms of both the required performance and testing, is the wide-area network solution where we turn a high-end PC into a cellular network supporting many users over a large coverage area.
Our previous video update showcase our adaptive digital pre-distortion (ADPD) technology to achieve a highly efficient power amplifier solution. We have incorporated a 10 W power amplifier into our design, for which our ADPD comes as a necessary component for the eventual deployment within operator networks.
As for the field testing and verification of our hardware, we are working very closely with the 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC) at the University of Surrey, the largest UK academic research centre dedicated to the development of the next generation of mobile and wireless communications. The following video update shows the setup at the 5GIC for testing our hardware and our recent visit to utilise their world-renowned expertise in the area for the optimisation of the final design. We are confident that with the technical backing of so many groups, we can provide a very competitive device in par with the best-in-class closed source equipment from current vendors. There will be more updates on our progress in this regard and the valuable input we are getting from our 5GIC partners.
