Motors Coming Your Way!
We are excited to inform you that the Vertiq 8108s will be shipped to Crowd Supply’s warehouse the week of October 18th. After delays due to various electronic component shortages, the motor controller PCBs arrived last week, and we’ve assembled several motors and controllers for testing. Our test results so far have exceeded our expectations. Over the next week, we will be finalizing the firmware and perform final assembly and calibration on October 15th. Shipping Update
After many months of design work and testing, IQ is happy to announce that we have ordered the Vertiq 8108 motors for our backers and are expecting to receive them by early August. Read the full update.
Beta Testing
IQ has received the beta prototypes of the product and is in the process of testing and tuning it in order to make sure that it will be the ideal actuator for high speed and high torque applications. Read the full update.

IQ’s Vertiq 6806 is now the Vertiq 8108
After heavily testing the IQ Vertiq 6806 to determine its performance capabilities and limitations, IQ Motion Control has decided to update the design from a 6806 motor to an 8108 motor. This update explains how and why we made this decision. Read the full update.

Benefits of an Integrated Motor and Controller
IQ Motion Control was built on the foundation of advanced motor control with position sensing. Position sensors are often bulky and expensive, but IQ’s goal was to create the most compact, high performance motor, controller, and sensor package on the market. In early October, IQ Motion Control attended AUVSI Xponential 2020! AUVSI, or Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, is the world’s largest non profit organization that pushed the UAV and robotics industries forward. Every year they host the world’s largest event for unmanned and autonomous systems. This year, however, it was virtual. Read the full update.
Testing Prototypes with BFD
This past month, IQ Motion Control teamed up with BFD to test IQ’s alpha prototype of the Vertiq 6806! BFD is a UAV hardware development company that builds aircrafts that can be customized to a business’s unique needs. They were created to bridge the gap between expensive heavy lift systems and common light duty multirotors. The IQ Vertiq 6806 180 KV motor module is now available for pre-order on Crowd Supply! The Vertiq 6806 is built for commercial UAV and robotics applications. The combination of IQ’s unique hardware design and proprietary software allows IQ motors to maximize torque output, efficiency, and precision, while minimizing motor vibration, cost, and footprint.
