Hello Pebble Tracker supporters! It has been one month since our last Crowd Supply update, but we have been working around the clock on some awesome updates that we are excited to share with you today. So sit back and enjoy our finalized case design, updates on the manufacturing process, and what to expect for the next couple months.

Unveiling the Finalized Case Design for Pebble Tracker

Pebble Tracker was initially designed for developers, but due to popular demand we have been working diligently to make it easy for anyone to use Pebble Tracker to interact with IoTeX Dapps like Scaleout, Pebble GO, and more that use verifiable data from Pebble Tracker as an input. As we mentioned in our last update in March, we decided to go the extra mile and design a sleek, discrete, and compact case for Pebble Tracker, which is included for free for all backers!

Everyone will receive their Pebble Tracker enclosed in this new case, but if you are a developer you can always switch to the original "open case" (also included) for easy access to the debugger port. We are really excited with the new case design, which includes 3 convenient buttons for user-friendly navigation, a shiny 0.96 inch Blue OLED display with 128x64 px resolution, and easy-to-access Micro-USB and SIM Card slots. With this new case, Pebble Tracker will be able to provide device status information and streamline operations for users of all skill levels — get excited!

Manufacturing Update

The COVID-19 pandemic has sent shockwaves around the world, contributing to unprecedented chip/electronics shortages and supply chain delays that are expected to continue throughout 2021. These parts shortages and supply chain bottlenecks have posed significant challenges for the global electronics industry, and Pebble Tracker is no exception. As we battle through these obstacles, we are happy to report that we have successfully secured the key parts/components for our initial manufacturing run of 1,000+ Pebble Trackers! However, we do anticipate our delivery timeline will be slightly delayed due to these unforeseen circumstances — we will share updates on the shipping timelines immediately as they become available. In the meantime, we will continue to work closely with our manufacturing and distribution partners to get Pebble Tracker to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!

What to expect next

In addition to finalizing our new case design and pushing forward the manufacturing process, the IoTeX team has been hard at work to make Pebble Tracker even easier to set-up and customizable to your needs. Here are some other new initiatives we have been working on:

• Device registration portal to make it easy to create a decentralized identity (DID) for your Pebble Tracker, bind your device-DID to your user-DID, and manage the data from your Pebble Tracker, including authorizing its use to various IoTeX DApps like Scaleout
• New firmware packages to optimize Pebble Tracker for specific IoTeX DApps like Pebble GO, which will be delivered over-the-air (OTA) for seamless updates
• New developer tutorials to make it easy to capture, transmit, and utilize verifiable data from Pebble Tracker in both blockchain and non-blockchain applications
