We wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Let’s start the new year with our first update.
During software development, we experimented with using various devices over the SPI interface. We found that many devices have extra pins serving as interrupt pins and/or wakeup pins. The original design intended the BlueIO832-Mini to stay as small and simple as possible. However, we found four GPIO pins are not sufficient in use cases relying on the SPI interface. Therefore, at the last minute we decided to increase the number of GPIO pins to six.
At the same time, we changed the LED to an RGB LED, added a voltage divider to allow capture of analog voltage up to 5 V, instead of direct 1.8 V. This did result in a slight increase of the size of the board. It is now 18 x 24 mm as opposed to the original size of 16 x 20 mm.
The good news is that this new design has made it to production and the first batch has been produced and tested. See the photo below for a comparison between the original design (right) and the final production board.
Thank you so much for your support!
