I have heard your feedback for more precise voltage and current setting through USB-C programmable power supply (PPS), and I am thrilled to share some exciting news in this update:
The Spark Analyzer’s journey of innovation takes another leap forward with the integration of USB-C PD 3.0’s Programmable Power Supply (PPS) mode. This breakthrough feature offers unparalleled precision, allowing voltage adjustments from 3.3 VDC to 21 VDC in 20 mV increments and setting the current output limit in 50 mA steps up to a maximum of 3 A. This enhancement ensures better accuracy and versatility for all your power needs - allowing it to be used as a regular lab power supply.
I have been busy developing and testing this and I am excited to report that Spark Analyzer now fully supports the PPS protocol, ensuring a more versatile and efficient user experience. Please check out the images above showing how the Web App now supports a PPS version to set your voltage and current in finer resolution! In this example, I have set the voltage to 15.5 VDC and you can see the voltmeter measuring that voltage.
This is the PPS-compatible wall wart I used, an Anker 511 charger:
A heartfelt shoutout to Ryan Ma and Kai Liebich for their open-source contributions which this is built on.
The journey doesn’t stop here. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore new applications and projects with Spark Analyzer. Your support and enthusiasm are what make this project worthwhile!
Thank you for being a pivotal part of this exciting journey.
Best Regards,
Jason
