Thank You for a Fantastic 2024

by Daan P

The year 2024 is coming to an end, and what a fantastic year it has been. Launching Walter was a remarkable team effort, and it’s amazing to see that Walter has now found its place with developers and companies worldwide. As we look forward to 2025, we’re excited about what’s ahead, with many software releases planned to make programming and deploying Walter even easier. Read on to discover what’s coming next.

Meet Our Team at a Trade Show

We love meeting new people and discovering new use cases for Walter, which is why we have planned four trade shows in 2025 across the globe:

We will also be speaking at the IoT Stars event in Nuremberg and the Advanced Engineering Show in Ghent.

The First Commercial Products with Walter Become Available

🌊 Meet the Rovin RMG. Built for the most challenging environments, the RMG is a brand-independent datalogger and IoT gateway in one, enclosed in a fully waterproof housing rated up to 100 meters. The RMG transmits data seamlessly over NB-IoT and LTE-M and supports diverse sensor inputs, including Modbus, RS232, SDI12, CAN and more, with outputs in MQTT, HTTPS, and SFTP. Its modular design enables easy interconnection of multiple units, so scaling up with additional sensors is simple and efficient. Various tests have shown excellent coverage in the Benelux with the Soracom SIM cards on both NB-IoT and LTE-M and connection to the BlueCherry IoT platform.

Join Our Discord Community

Over the past few months, we’ve been building a Discord community around Walter. During office hours in the CE(S)T timezone, you’ll usually find one or more members of the Walter team online.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Connected New Year

It’s the festive season, and Walter is spreading some colorful cheer! We’ve built a Christmas tree using a WS2812B LED string and programmed it with sparkling effects. Thanks to its LTE connection, you can change the tree’s colors from anywhere in the world! And by the way, Walter will surely make your favorite engineer very happy if you place it in a nice package under the tree.

Wishing you joyful holidays and looking forward to building a more connected future together in the new year!
