We are excited to announce that crowdfunding has begun for DAQiFi Nyquist 1! Our team designed this portable data-acquisition (DAQ) device for hobbyists and power users who need an easy, reliable, inexpensive way to collect sensor measurements and deliver them to their PC, smartphone, or tablet using our free and open-source client software.

Nyquist is completely wireless. It features a built-in Li-Ion battery, so you can deploy it virtually anywhere, and it supports the 802.11 Wi-Fi standard, so you can host it on your existing networks. Open-source hardware and software allow you to adapt DAQiFi Nyquist for any data-acquisition application. Drivers and APIs are available for third-party platforms, including NI LabVIEW, Wolfram Mathematica, and NodeRED.

What inspired this product? We’ve observed, over a great many years, that users of data-acquisition devices—academics, scientists, and engineers alike—spend far too much time configuring and programming their hardware. This detracted from their main goal: to collect and analyze data essential to the task at hand. We envisioned a better solution: modular, portable data acquisition with flexible, wireless connectivity.

The Nyquist line of products makes it easy for anyone to gather the data they need without having to spend their time learning the intricacies of data collection, software development, and device configuration.
