Welcome back to another exciting Tangara project update!
Tangara is shipping! Over the last week, a steady stream of packages has been leaving Mouser’s warehouse and heading out to all of our beloved backers. We are therefore once again reminding you to please double check that your delivery address is correct to avoid disappointment!
We have just under 650 devices being dispatched in this first batch, with some boxes of the devices still on their way to Mouser for distribution. Depending on how lucky you are, you may already have your Tangara in hand! Or it may take a couple of weeks before you receive your shipping notification email. If you’re in the latter camp, we can only ask for your patience at this time. If you purchased a Tangara during our campaign and haven’t received a shipping notification before the next project update, then let us know and we can investigate for you.
Remember as well that if you have any issues at all with your device after you’ve received it, you can contact support@cooltech.zone and we will help you out.
Whilst our first batch is shipping, the work continues on our second production batch. The second batch is largely what will be kept in stock by Mouser for future purchasers. However if you purchased a Tangara after our campaign, then your order will also be included in this batch.
In terms of design, the second batch will be largely unchanged compared to the first; however, we are working on a minor revision to the mainboard to improve assembly yield. Otherwise, we’re ready to begin placing orders for the components that we only ordered in single-batch quantities (mostly PCBs, batteries, and displays).
At this point, we estimate that the second batch will be ready to start shipping out sometime around March next year, but we’ll keep you updated as production ramps back up.
If you’ve received your device, then we’d love to know what you think of it and how you’re using it! Participating in our forum is a great way to share your experiences and chat with other like-minded Tangara fans. If you’re a developer, then you should also feel free to pitch in with development on Codeberg.
Finally, remember that Crowd Supply’s Field Reports program is always looking for great writeups. If your report is cool enough, it could even be published as your very own Tangara Project Update!
That’s all for this month’s very exciting update! Take care out there!
