Espoir on Schedule for Shipping

by Marc-Antoine L

Hello dear backers! I hope you had a good week. I sure had a busy one!

This week’s update is a little late, because I wanted to get to the following milestone:

These are the last boards needed to fulfill all campaign orders we’ve received so far! These Pmod-compatible mikroShields and Espoir boards only need to complete the quality check, plus I need to solder the headers to the IO One mikroShields. Production will therefore be completed this week.

I still have to complete the logistics of shipping to Crowd Supply’s distribution partner, Mouser Electronics. At this point, however, I will certainly be able to ship soon after the campaign finishes. I had given myself an additional month to complete production in case something went wrong, but everything went well. Oh well!

Not perfectly well, though. One board got severely burned (apparently the solder pot can reach over 450 C on the maximum setting), another got scratched, and two others I have yet to determine why they malfunctioned. I guess it’s all part of learning.

There is one piece of good news too for those of you who haven’t ordered yet: there are still boards available. That means you can still order Espoir and get yours along with everyone else! Visit our campaign page to order yours today!

If you’re not yet convinced Espoir should be part of your toolbox, check out the docs, where you will find Espoir’s technical specifications and some guides to get you started on your next automation project without any code. You can also contact me directly via the ask-a-question page.

Cheers, Marc
