Dear Blueshift backers -

A lot has happened since the last update! And, while it’s probably not exactly the news that all of you were hoping for, it is going work out for everyone.

I have a new full-time job. This is mostly good news for Blueshift - it means that I have some resources available to pump into the project. Most importantly, two people have started working on final assembly - so we’ll be shipping product consistently each week, until all of your orders are filled.

The bad news is, this job is eating up all of my time, and I just don’t have the bandwidth to finish the Hydrogen design in a timely fashion. In order to get production back on track, all backers who originally ordered a Hydrogen will be upgraded to the Helium Mono - a better, more expensive, slightly larger speaker - at no additional charge. Because this was not the deal you signed up for, I am also able to offer a refund to any Hydrogen backers who prefer that rather than the upgrade.

If you’d like the upgrade to the Helium Mono, you don’t need to do anything; you will automatically be upgraded if we don’t hear from you. If you want a refund, please contact support@crowdsupply.com.

I hope that no one is too disappointed that the Hydrogen project is not happening in its original form. In the end, I found myself spread too thin (financially and otherwise) to do the project the right way. This solution - sending out a proven product that we know we can deliver in a timely manner - seemed like the fairest way to solve the problem, and to get everybody a great speaker as soon as possible.
