We wanted to update you on the current status of the LIT tire project.

We successfully solved the ghost-labeling in the reflective sidewall we described last month. Which is good. During the intervening weeks, we’ve been riding the LIT prototypes extensively, putting them through the paces on the rough road of Portland to test their durability and performance. Frankly, we weren’t 100% satisfied.

At the end of our 30 day test period, we identified a few key improvements that needed to be made in order to make this a truly superior urban tire. Our standards are high, and our commitment to our backers even higher. As such, we have decided to delay production so we can work with our partners to implement the improvements and verify the quality of the finished product.

What does this mean for LIT Tire backers?

You have options.

Option 1: We will gladly issue refunds upon request. Email us at patrick[at]veloproducts[dot]com, and we’ll begin the refund process.

Option 2: Hang in there and we’ll deliver a finished product as soon as we can. You’ll still get updates from us as we navigate further product development.

Regardless of which option you choose, we can’t thank you enough for having taken the leap and supporting our project. You know as we do that we’re on to something. We won’t put our name or our customers on our product until it’s perfect.
